Making strides against cancer

Hometown:

Milwaukee, WI and Williamsburg, VA (No, I wasn’t born in two places at the same time; I was born in Milwaukee and moved to Virginia when I was nine.  Both are home to me.)

What is your greatest personal achievement?
It may not sound like much, but packing up everything I own to come to Wisconsin from Virginia to pursue a master’s degree was a big deal for me.  I didn’t know anybody, hadn’t been in school for over two years, and now had to rely on Famous Dave’s for decent BBQ.

curb is all about balance - what do you bring to curb that no one else on staff does?
I can tell you where to put your commas.  More importantly, I can tell you where not to put your commas.

What song best represents Wisconsin in your mind and why?
Any song by the Violent Femmes reminds me of Wisconsin.  They’re a Milwaukee-based band that’s been around for over 20 years and they still kick ass.

If you could change just one thing about Wisconsin, what would it be?
Let’s just get rid of calling soda “pop.”
