It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – Season 5 – FX
With each new controversy and each new episode, the gang on this series finds a way to think up a half-baked scheme and a fresh adventure. Charlie, Mac, Dennis, “Sweet Dee” and Frank spend most of their time running the rarely frequented Paddy’s Pub in Philadelphia. Their witty banter, inter-gang competition, and unethical, silly and often ignorant decisions make this comedy one worth getting hooked on.
Why We Watch: Wine in a can
Entourage – Season 6 – HBO
Following the life of Vince, a twenty-something guy who shot to movie fame almost overnight, this comedy chronicles the (mis)adventures of his Hollywood entourage. Vince’s manager Eric (a.k.a. “E”), his manager Ari, his older brother Drama, and his childhood friend Turtle round out the crew. The antics of Vince’s entourage revolve around their relationships with women and their (quest for) stardom.
Why We Watch: Flashy cars, beautiful women and absurd plotlines.
Mad Men – Season 3 – AMC
Transporting viewers back to the world of advertising in the 1960s, this Emmy Award-winning drama focuses on the men of the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency in New York. Against the backdrop of the cutthroat ad industry, the office lifestyle is saturated with whiskey, women and Lucky Strikes. While watching a random episode may not be enough to get hooked, this series is worth catching up to.
Why We Watch: Loose secretaries and more vices than a Joe Pesci movie.
The Office – Season 6 – NBC
Now that Dunder Mifflin’s favorite couple, Jim and Pam, have tied the knot, The Office can get back to business under the pseudo-direction of manager Michael. This mockumentary revolves around office happenings, including the rivalry between Dwight and Jim, Michael’s taunting of overweight Kevin and homosexual Oscar, the budding romance between Andy and Erin, the new secretary.
Why We Watch: Jim and Dwight’s ongoing rivalry and Michael’s ridiculous neuroses.
