Favorite part about Wisconsin: My family used to own a cottage on Lake Michigan. I spent the better part of my youth swimming in that lake--which, considering the pollution levels, might actually explain a lot.

Random thought: My all-time favorite reporting assignment was the 2004 Reedsburg Butterfest Demolition Derby. Usually just called a "demo." It's got copious amounts of flying mud and an endless run of intentional car crashes. As for the viewing public, there's not a single set of shirtsleeves in sight and they drink enough Pabst and Old Style to float the Titanic. It's like the Britney Spears of auto sports.
