Harvest is one of Madison’s trendiest and most expensive restaurants. Harvest’s Pastry Chef Adam Coe said that their cuisine is “contemporary American with a lot of French influence.” In the fall you can expect to find,“seasonal ingredients from local farmers, like apples, pears, squash and root vegetables with a hint of the extravagant things, like foie gras.” Impress your new special someone with the chef's tasting menu, which is the definitely best bang for your (rather significant) buck. It is five courses: an appetizer, an entrée, a cheese, an assortment of desserts, and little sweets to cleanse your palate. Everything is prepared fresh with ingredients from the Dane County Farmers Market or area farms whenever possible. The staff is very friendly and less pretentious than those of some of the other high-end restaurants in the area. Chef and Owner Jeff Orr says that Harvest’s signature cuisine is “the result of concentration, restraint, proper technique and the best ingredients available…there should be something both surprising and familiar about it.” Most aptly put by the reviewers at Madison Magazine: “Less is more here.” Visit Harvest's website or see pictures of Harvest.
