Wisconsin-made wine and beer

Alcohol is a big part of Wisconsin’s culture: no matter what the occasion, Wisconsinites find an excuse to consume large quantities of alcoholic beverages. Given this fact, it’s not surprising that Wisconsin has breweries and wineries distributed throughout the state.  For my photo essays, I chose one winery and one brewery to visit,  – a hardship I tell you! – photograph, and learn about. While I am unable to share what knowledge I learned of the fermentation process at each spot, why the locals love it, or even the rich history and tradition, I can encourage you to do what CURB is all about: get off the main highway and take a trip to see for yourself. Go visit your local brewery or winery: spend a few hours browsing gifts shops, performing taste-tests, getting to know the owners, the workers, the legends.  Until then, though, take a trip with me from the World’s Largest Six Pack at the La Crosse City Brewery to cellars full of award winning wine at Wollersheim Winery. I can guarantee you’ll love what you see – AND that you’ll be wishing you’d been the one doing the taste-testing…
